Long Roads

When to the nearest city today. Named Mirpur, its catchment has a population of around a million people. It has strong links with the UK, as many people emigrated from here to work in the UK in the early 50’s, 60’s & 70’s. It took us nearly an hour to wind around the lakes of the Mangla damn and a few river crossings to reach it. Our choice of transport was a minivan which we shared with 13 others; packed in like Sardines. The troughs and peaks of the roads can make one queezy. The man sat to the left of me smelt strongly of chickens. We went to see a few friends and relatives, the day passed quickly.
